This week’s guest is Todd Spencer, President at the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. Over the years Todd has held senior roles within OOIDA culminating in his appointment as President in January 2018. A lot has happened to the trucking industry since Todd entered it as a driver - the equipment has changed, information technology underwent a revolution, and of course the entire industry was deregulated. Anyone listening to this podcast knows that the TL trucking industry has a very long tail with very many very small fleets. We discuss the challenges that drivers, especially but not exclusively, Owner Operators face and how shippers can help reduce these obstacles.
